Amityville Acupuncture & SPOHNC

If you did not read the previous blog on SPOHNC, please do so. Tonight we met with the Syosset group and we were well received by all. Men, 6 - 8 of them willing to attend our classes - be still my heart - a first! This group was as wonderful and welcoming as the Stony Brook support group. Kudos for SPOHNC.

And to make the evening better, we met the founder Nancy Leupold who shared ideas and gave us some hints to success. Thank you, Nancy for you kindness and sage advice.

From Amityville Acupuncture -
please read the following bio of Erin Hume taken from http://www.amityvilleacupuncture.com/

A native of Copiague, New York, Erin moved to San Diego, California where she graduated with a Master’s Degree in Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM) and Chinese Herbology from the renowned Pacific College of Oriental Medicine. Having studied with some of the most respected faculty in the country, she also received clinical training at the prestigious Chengdu University of Traditional Chinese Medicine in China.

From San Diego, she relocated when her husband, a Naval officer, was stationed in Nashville, Tennessee. Erin opened and operated a very successful practice in Nashville, where she treated professional athletes such as the NFL Tennessee Titans and NHL Nashville Predators.

Now, back on Long Island Erin looks forward to bringing all of her knowledge and skills in wholistic medicine to Amityville. She continues to work with many professional athletes including the NFL New York Jets. She also is a professor at The New York College of Health Professions teaching acupuncture and massage.

At Amityville Acupuncture & Wellness, the aim is to treat the root imbalance, or causative factor, not simply the symptom. Erin is committed to treating her patients with the utmost care and concern. Amityville Acupuncture & Wellness offers a full granular pharmacy to provide patients not only the best care, but custom herbal formulas.

Erin was kind enough to invite Debbie and I to speak at her Breast Cancer meeting which she holds the second Thursday of each month. Again the entire staff was warm and welcoming - as was this location. Please give the website your attention - Erin has so much to offer and so many ways to help any condition you may suffer from.

So Thursday, October 8th was a very productive day for Strength for Life - we made many contacts, met many wonderful people and succeeded in spreading the word.

A postscript - this morning I awoke and was thinking about this blog I did in a hurry late last night. My thought was that the title "staff" at Amityville Acupuncture did not suit the feelings I encountered - it was more like "family". Well tonight (a day later) in a conversation with Debbie about Erin and her team - lo and behold it is her family - her mother and grandmother were a part of that warm embracing feeling at the center. One more reason for you to visit Amityville Acupuncture, not everyone was biological family - but you would never know.
