Missed you all!

Apologies for the two week time span between posts...what could be happening in two weeks.  Well 9000 applications have been in and out of my house.  Yes, that was 9000 - crazy runners on Long Island.  5% would make for a successful run.

We are just happy that it is taking place and out there at this point.  Race Day...ask about that later....I can't even go there and try to predict all that can happen - good and 'not so good'.

Yesterday, via Facebook, I saw that Imerman Angels were looking for colon cancer patients/survivors to mentor.  Imerman Angels (one of my many favorite groups) offers the following per their website:

Welcome to Imerman Angels (http://www.imermanangels.org/)

Imerman Angels carefully matches and individually pairs a person touched by cancer (a cancer fighter or survivor) with someone who has fought and survived the same type of cancer (a Mentor Angel). Cancer caregivers (spouses, parents, children and other family and friends of fighters) also receive 1-on-1 connections with other caregivers and survivors. These 1-on-1 relationships inspire hope and offer the chance to ask personal questions and receive support from someone who is uniquely familiar with the experience. The service is absolutely free and helps anyone touched by any type of cancer, at any cancer stage level, at any age, living anywhere in the world.

I would recommend contacting them when you feel strong enough to help another...we are all in this together and we are the support that is needed.

I also viewed a very interesting video (41 minutes) "Winning the War on Cancer" - when you have time take a look - you can always pick up some good information - here they go into the good of Complementary Alternative Medicine.

And, yes,  it is Breast Cancer Awareness month....it is 'in your face' when you are already aware of it but not in the face of everyone who should be addressing their breast health - so, endure it and know that by 'shouting from the rooftops' we may help 1 or 2 or 1,000+ seek professional exams and follow up.

Getting it all out there - all those thoughts that flew through while I was not blogging...
