Another great interview from "Beyond the Boobie Trap"...

This interview covers osteopenia and osteoporosis, vitamin D testing, exercise and the effects of certain medications taken by breast cancer patients.

Take the time (30 min ) and listen carefully, with a pencil and paper at hand - great interview.  Dr. Adam Barron, author of  "Osteopenia and Osteoporosis" shares a lot of information.  New for me "do not take calcium supplements within 24 hours of the bone density test"  really??? How come no one has ever said that before.

Just today there was an article in Newsday that calcium supplements increase the risk of heart problems by 30% - hmmmm! and Dr. Barron  advises that increases in calcium beyond the suggested dose increases the risk of kidney stones.... and.........so so much good information.

Exercise resistance bands are good as are weight bearing exercises, balance exercises and tai chi get a thumbs up to help avoid the risk of falling.....sit  ups and front/forward bends should be avoided to decrease the risk of spinal fractures in those suffering with osteoporosis....

Just take the 30 minutes - I can't do this interview justice.
