Evelyn Knapp "Run to Remember" Recap

Strength for Life would like to thank all who came out to support our run on November 23rd, 2014.

YOU made the day a great one!

It was a beautiful day for a run on the challenging hills of Sunken Meadow,
or simply a Boardwalk stroll for a great cause.
Strength for Life is a local nonprofit providing free exercise classes and wellness retreats to cancer patients/survivors throughout Long Island. This year we have helped nearly 200 cancer survivors in our classes and retreats, since our inception over 1200. In 2014 we added two more locations for classes and there will be an additional two more locations in 2015. We are serving Winthrop Hospital, STARS Rehabilitation and the Dolan Family Center (NSLIJ), Stony Brook Hospital, Mather Hospital, Southampton Hospital, Brookhaven Hospital and Long Island Wellness Center (Bay Shore). We have three retreats planned for 2015 and hopefully will add an alumni retreat.
We have much to be thankful for during the Holiday Season!
Once again this year, we would like to thank the Green Vale ‘Pacers’ for their generous fundraising donation of $2000. Our motto is “Inspire, Strengthen, and Empower” and it is obvious that same motto resonates in each one of the 56 young ladies and their inspiring Coaches. The Pacers have been a gift to Strength for Life since our Inaugural Run in 2010 and during this Thanksgiving season we reflect on the gratitude of their support. It is overwhelming!
Many of our ’thrivers’ helped raise money by reaching out to
friends and family for sponsors - thank you!
