We lost a dear friend - Rebecca Keenan

Our first wellness retreat 2009 !!!

Rebecca was Strength for Life’s First “Inspire” honoree at the 2012 Survivor Recognition Dinner. We chose three extraordinary survivors one for each characteristic of our motto..

"Inspire, Strengthen and Empower"

"INSPIRE" - to live in spirit, no one we know defines this word better than Rebecca Keenan...We met Rebecca at our first wellness retreat in 2009......as the day unfolded Rebecca shared her story-she was 8 months pregnant when she was diagnosed...with a newborn , a 4 year old and a 7 year old to care for , Rebecca started on her breast cancer journey....since the first meeting and now 4 years later she never displays anything other than good, pure, positive thoughts and SMILES! She is always smiling!! I read something that she wrote recently and it said "what really matters is that we all smile and laugh a lot!"...She is an amazing person and an unbelievable mom, throughout her treatment she manages to host birthday parties, schedule playdates and basically be supermom!...Her faith has been something that has always stood out, her trust in the Lord and in her journey is awe inspiring....one last thing to mention, Rebecca completed this past year Evelyn Knapp's 5K 'Run to Remember' , this is no easy task, with the infamous Cardiac Hill and Snake Hill as part of our course this didn't stop or scare off Rebecca and she came through that finish line a true winner...."

2011 "Run to Remember"

The Fairy Godmother at Stony Brook University, 2013,
there to celebrate a pediatric cancer patient 'ringing the bell'
which means the end of their chemo!!!  And she shared her love for our survivors.

Rebecca was there for a class always trying to do whatever she could to stay strong!!!
God Bless You, Rebecca!!!
